5 Ways To Make The Most Out Of Your Rainy Day

With spring in full swing, students have been more happy to enjoy the warm weather and blooming flowers we were deprived of during the long winter months.

It is easy to forget it isn’t always sunshine and happiness until we experience the first dreary April storm.  Despite the fact that rainy weather tends to have a negative effect on mood, that does not have to be the case! There are definitely ways to enjoy yourself, be productive, and make the most out of it!

1. Get some cleaning done.

Though it might not be the ideal way to spend your time, it is a convenient way. You are free from the temptations of a beautiful day and, chances are, you have a closet to reorganize, shelves to dust, or, at the very least, a bed to make. Turn on some good music to make your time cleaning a little better. Then, get stuff done!

2. Go for a walk.

As long as the conditions outside aren’t dangerous, a little rain never hurt anybody! Grab an umbrella or a raincoat, and enjoy looking at your surroundings from a whole new perspective. Rain in the spring might be frequent, but people don’t often experience it like this. Chances are, it will not be very crowded outside, and you will basically have the whole campus to yourself.

3. Netflix!

I can imagine that cleaning and getting wet outside isn’t quite everyone’s cup of tea, but everyone does love Netflix. Instead of looking at rainy weather as gloomy weather, consider it cozy weather and cuddle up with some popcorn and your most recent TV show obsession. There is no better binge-watching weather.

4. Shop online.

Most of us don’t have cars on campus, and for those that do, rain does not make for the safest driving conditions. Instead of finding a way to make it to the mall, you could so much more easily stay in the comfort of your own room and browse for cute clothes online. There are so many more options, and you don’t have to move. Rain may make people lazy, but buying new clothes can be a positive consequence of that (as long as you don’t get carried away and spend all your money, of course).

5. Be social.

Nothing kills your mood more than being alone with your thoughts in gloomy weather. The simple fix is to be with other people. Though you hangout with friends all the time and in any weather, rainy days are the best days to be around them, in my opinion.  A good talk, laugh or video game session will instantly boost your spirits!

Everyone has their leisurely activities, but rainy days seem to make it hard to come up with them. Don’t let the dark skies ruin anything. Make the most of it!

Disclaimer: you should probably make sure all of your homework is done before resorting to any of these. Oh, the sad life of a college student.
